HOW CAN MY MAJOR MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE?

The architecture sector is characterized by being a highly polluting area, since for this to be carried out, large quantities of materials are necessary that in their production and handling emit large amounts of gases, which is obviously natural but due to the intervention on the human being there is an increase. However, the concern on the part of society to make the world a less polluting place is increasingly evident, which is why sustainable building are proposed, also called green building, which are constructions that contribute to the improvement of the environment, factor that is necesary for human confort.
It is for this reason that I see myself learning more and more about my career and its relationship with the environment is highly damaged by construction work and building operations that respond to the high demographic demand.

I'm studing architecture at the university of Chile, a career that I have liked from a very young age, Y always knew that I wanted to study architecture.  I really like listening to music, it is one of the  things I do most of the time, I do everything with music because it disconnects me from the world and it relaxes me a lot. Another thing I like is cooking, experimenting in the kitchen, and now, in a pandemic I have had more time to do it, obviously with music. About my family, I can tell you that there are four of us in total, my parents, my sister and me. With the arrival of the pandemic we have been able to be more together, something that did not happen before, due to work and study ussues, now he have the possibility of doing everything online and from home, which allows us to have more time at home with our family.
A SUBJECT YOU'VE ENJOYED STUDYING  THIS SEMESTER  The subject that I enjoyed the most and that I took this semester was "Culture of classical architecture", and that unfortunately I only had once a week. In general, they were expository classes, taught by Rodrigo Booth, which only notes were taken, which later helped us to  develop the theoritical work, with the exception of some occasions where the work was practical. This subject proposed to revisit the idea of the classical in architecture overtime, and for this the origin of the classical form in Greek and Roman antiquity is analyzed, and its reinterpretation from the renaissance to the contemporary world. Among the topic could be found the history of classical architecture in Greece and Rome, and its various emblematics constructions, the transition of this type of architecture from antiquity  to the renaissance and from the renaissence to the modern era. Personally, I avoid any history subject but this one in p...
WHY DID I CHOOSE MY MAJOR?  Well, from a very young age I was clear about what I wanted to study, I loved it and I still like to draw the house of my dreams, wherever I go I have to go with my sketchbook and my pencils, putting references on a sheet of paper. However, in my adolescence, having been clear about the degree I wanted to study generated doubts, this because as the years went by at school, my classmates wanted to study something different every day, and that made me wonder if it was okay to have closed to, just one carrer and not have been more options. From there I started looking for other careers that I liked but none compared to what I wanted to study, which was architecture. Finally, I stayed with architecture, this is my second year and so far I have had a good online experience, waiting for a face-to-face experience.
