WHY DID I CHOOSE MY MAJOR?

Well, from a very young age I was clear about what I wanted to study, I loved it and I still like to draw the house of my dreams, wherever I go I have to go with my sketchbook and my pencils, putting references on a sheet of paper.

However, in my adolescence, having been clear about the degree I wanted to study generated doubts, this because as the years went by at school, my classmates wanted to study something different every day, and that made me wonder if it was okay to have closed to, just one carrer and not have been more options. From there I started looking for other careers that I liked but none compared to what I wanted to study, which was architecture.

Finally, I stayed with architecture, this is my second year and so far I have had a good online experience, waiting for a face-to-face experience.

  1. Is so good that you followed your lifelong dream to study architecture, Karen! I'm so glad that tomorrow there will be an architect who loves what she does like you. And I really admire that you go everywhere with your sketchbook to draw a lot because personally I'm terrible at it and I never practice.
I'm sure that you will be a great professional!

  3. It's great to know that when you were a child you already knew what you wanted to study. In my case it was the opposite, so I envy you a little haha.
By the way, I’m glad to hear that your online experience has been good, and I really hope we can return to face-to-face classes soon.

A SUBJECT YOU'VE ENJOYED STUDYING  THIS SEMESTER  The subject that I enjoyed the most and that I took this semester was "Culture of classical architecture", and that unfortunately I only had once a week. In general, they were expository classes, taught by Rodrigo Booth, which only notes were taken, which later helped us to  develop the theoritical work, with the exception of some occasions where the work was practical. This subject proposed to revisit the idea of the classical in architecture overtime, and for this the origin of the classical form in Greek and Roman antiquity is analyzed, and its reinterpretation from the renaissance to the contemporary world. Among the topic could be found the history of classical architecture in Greece and Rome, and its various emblematics constructions, the transition of this type of architecture from antiquity  to the renaissance and from the renaissence to the modern era. Personally, I avoid any history subject but this one in p...
A MEAL OR FOOD YOU REALLY LIKE  The truth is, I like any food that has rice, no matter what kind of accompaniment it has, I know I would like it just for the fact that it has rice but if I had to choose only one it would be SUSHI, I love sushi because in addition to bringing rice it has a great variety of other ingredients, from fish, meat, cheese to fruit and vegetable, all that in JUST ONE PIECE!! It is fascinating. Sushi is well kown for the technique used when preparing, it since the ingredients are put in a square of seaweed with rice that then must be wrapped until leaving it in a roll, and that is the complicated thing. I have done on my own twice and it is a very laborious, especially when you are inexperienced and do not have help, it takes a long time to prepare and a lot of perfection when it comes to wrapping and that what you do looks like a roll trying not to spill anything, it is somewhat difficult but not impossible because I managed to do it!!! I think that all foo...
